The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun and the entire police community are in mourning following the demise of one of their own and former spokesman, Frank Odita.
The late Odita was one of the icons of the police institution in Nigeria. He left indelible footprints in the Public Relations department of the police.
According to a statement by the police spokesman, “the IGP on behalf of the entire officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force, commiserates with family, friends and loved ones on the sudden death of a former Commissioner of Police and Force Public Relations Officer, CP Frank Odita (rtd).”
The statement added that he was the Force Public Relations Officer of the force between 1990 and 1992, and tremendously raised the bar in Police Public Relations, setting the standard for later successes in police/citizen relationship.
The late Odita retired from the Nigeria Police in 1993 after a well-celebrated and meritorious service to the nation.
