The NAF spokesman said the crash occurred while the drone took off for a mission near Rumji village in Kaduna.
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) says its Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), popularly known as drone, crashed in Kaduna on Monday morning.
NAF spokesman Edward Gabkwet made this known in a statement on Monday in Abuja, dismissing a helicopter crash.
Mr Gabkwet said the crash occurred while the drone took off for a mission near Rumji village in Kaduna. He, however, said no casualty was recorded.
“Instead, a NAF Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) experienced a mishap after take-off for a mission at a location near Rumji village and about 15 Km from Base. Since it is an unmanned vehicle, there were no casualties on board or ground,” he said.
Mr Gabkwet said a preliminary investigation had since commenced to ascertain what might have caused the mishap.
He assured Nigerians that the minor setback would not, in any way, impinge on all ongoing operations.
