Its spokesman, SP Sewuese Anene, said the command had yet to receive any report of protest in Benue.
Ms Anene said the atmosphere within the state remained calm, and people were going about their normal businesses. She, however, said the command had deployed officers to be on alert in case of any eventuality and to continue monitoring developments.
Ms Anene also clarified that the command had not arrested anyone concerning the nationwide protest in Benue.
Though some banks and shops in the Wurukum area of Makurdi were closed, staff and shop owners were on standby to monitor the development.
Workers were at the federal and state secretariats to work.
In Gboko, Aliade, Otukpo, Katsina-Ala Wannue, Adikpo, Ado and Daudu, people were reportedly carrying on with their normal activies as the situation remained calm.
Organised labour, support groups, CSOs, market organisations, student unions, transport unions, and all issued advisories against the protest in Benue.
Governor Hyacinth Alia and the Benue Security Council had urged protesters to shelve the idea and forward their demands to the government.
