Adamawa is to receive N300 million worth of nutritional supplements for children in the state, says Dr Suleiman Bashir, executive chairman of the Adamawa Primary Healthcare Development Agency (ADPHCDA).
Mr Bashir disclosed this at a key performance feedback session for critical stakeholders in Yola on Saturday.
He said that the supply was expected from Denmark by next month.
The chairman said Governor Ahmadu Fintiri had already released the counterpart funding within a week of a request by the agency.
“Governor Fintiri has provided all the needed support and an enabling environment for us to implement all the health activities in the state.
“All these activities are done with some counterpart funding; we appreciate him for this and other commitments in ensuring quality healthcare service delivery in the state,” he said.
Mr Bashir also appreciated the contribution of all stakeholders to the success recorded in the health sector in 2023 and beyond.
Dr Felix Tangwami, the state’s commissioner for health, commended ADPHCDA for a job well done and urged the agency to do more.
“We are being paid for what we are doing; we should show value for what we are getting.
“Therefore, let us show commitment to deliver, and God will bless you for it,” Mr Tangwami said.
He also urged all stakeholders to continue to show commitment to quality healthcare service delivery.
Neido Kofulto, the commissioner for information and strategy, appreciated the efforts of health workers in reaching all the hard-to-reach areas to deliver service.
Ms Kofulto expressed the need for sensitisation and efforts to procure more vaccines to improve the well-being of people in the state.
Dr Ahemen Terseer, the state coordinator of the World Health Organisation (WHO), expressed his appreciation for the composition of stakeholders.
According to him, such a composition of professionals has not been seen in the two decades of his service with the bloc and he assured the state of WHO’s continued support.
Dr Ahmed Mustapha, district head of Girei, assured all stakeholders of the community’s unwavering support and collaboration to ensure good healthcare delivery for the people
