A woman alongside her two children escaped death in an accident that occurred in the Ajah area of Lagos on Thursday.
Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority said they rescued the mother and the children who were on their way to school, adding that the driver of the Sienna bus that conveyed them also survived the crash.
LASTMA’s Odumbo Ekundayo of Zone 14 confirmed that the accident which involved a Fiat Pick-up company van (SMK 297 GD) and the Sienna bus (LSR 105 HW) occurred around 7:30am at Salau Junction after Jakande first gate inward Chisco along the Lekki-Ajah Expressway.
According to the agency, preliminary investigation revealed that the accident was a result of speeding which resulted in a loss of control.
“Ekundayo confirmed further that all four accident victims were rushed to a nearby hospital by the husband of the woman who was contacted. The vehicles involved in the accident were handed over to policemen from Ilasan Police Station by Jakande along Lekki-Ajah Expressway,” LASTMA’s spokesperson, Adebayo Taofiq, said in a statement.
